Equinox Community Gathering
at Dance Ally in Gig Harbor
Saturday, Oct 3rd
5:00 - 7:00pm
This gathering is a joint offering with The Music Box & Awaken Self-Care. Dian Gnegy is leading sound healing and Shabadrang is leading breath & meditation.
Step into the Fall Equinox, a season of gratitude, harvest, and remembering.
The Fall Equinox is a time of harvest, abundance, and remembering our place within the larger rhythm of nature. This gathering invites us to offer our breath, our mind, and our time to the simple truth that we are part of something vast, interconnected, and deeply intelligent.
Through the technology of kriyas (gentle movement), prāṇāyāma (breathwork), and dhvani (vibrational sound healing), Shabadrang and Diana hold a space to soften, release, and return to inner balance. This session supports relaxation, healing, and the quiet remembering that arises when we align with seasonal change.
The Equinox invites us to pause and acknowledge the harvest—both the visible fruits of our labor and the subtle growth within. Gratitude is more than an emotion; in yogic philosophy it is a practice that purifies the mind and cultivates sattvic mind, the quality of clarity, harmony, and inner luminosity. When we consciously honor what is abundant in our lives, the mind shifts from grasping to receiving, from agitation to steadiness. This sattvic state becomes the ground from which healing, insight, and ease naturally arise.
A sattvic mind changes how life is experienced: colors feel brighter, breath feels deeper, relationships soften, and the world becomes less threatening and more interconnected. Another word for gratitude is to have reverence for or serenader, or in Sanskrit bhakti. Any practices without bhakti are incomplete. This gratitude opens the inner field so that kriya, prāṇāyāma, and dhvani can work more effectively—movement becomes meditation, breath becomes medicine, and sound becomes a doorway to experiencing and remembering your infinite nature.

Preparation for event: Hydrate before the event. If possible reframe from eating one hour before. Bring mat, blanket, cushion or anything else you may need to feel comfortable. You will be laying down for the sound healing portion. Loos fitting clothing is best to allow movement and deep breathing.
There well be a small sacred space for you to put a small offering of gratitude. It could be as simple as a piece of paper with a word written on it. This is a way to say thank you, to give back to your higher Self, what ever that looks like for you. Various cultures offer different things, some of the most common are small amount rice, a piece of fruit, herbs, even your own hair. This is completely optional and well take place towards the end of the event.
“Healing comes from a place of non-doing. Healing occurs naturally. It is the natural state of our being. When we go against natural order we create the opportunity for disease and illness. Healing is not a doing, it is providing space for the elements to balance and for the body, mind and soul to come back to its natural state.” -Shabadrang
